A Heart wide open to Nature

Monday, March 17, marks the 8th anniversary of my late husband Steve's passing. Those who are unfamiliar with his amazing story can read it HERE. When I was first getting to know Steve, I was struck by his sensitivity and intuitive ability to connect with and communicate with the natural world.

I fondly remember one summer day in Alaska when we were biking around Eklutna Lake. I was riding ahead, and suddenly, I noticed he was no longer behind me. When I turned around, I saw his bike lying on the path. As I approached, I found Steve kneeling under some trees. He exclaimed, "Look at these orchids. They were calling me!"

That was such a brilliant, sweet, unforgettable moment.

That was Steve—always highly intuitive and very much in touch with Nature.

While I deeply connected with animals, he had a profound relationship with Nature. He opened my eyes to the idea that everyone can make that connection to Nature if we simply open our hearts, quiet our minds, and listen.
